Dr. Dick Dobbin grew up in western Kansas. After attending the University of Kansas School of Engineering, he served in the Army. Dr. Dobbin later attended the University of Nebraska Dental school before moving to Colorado Springs with his wife and practicing as an associate with Dr. Robert Chambers.
In 1965, Dr. Dobbin opened his own practice in the old Southgate Shopping Center. After almost 25 years, he moved his practice to its current location on Cheyenne Boulevard. His daughter, Dr. Monica Dobbin, would join him in 1997.
Dr. Dobbin treated 4 generations of patients over the course of 53 years before retiring in 2018. He left the practice in the capable hands of his daughter Monica, Dr. Charles Sabadell, and Dr. Samuel McNickle.
Over the course of his career (and into his retirement!), Dr. Dobbin has volunteered his dental services in India, Nepal, Samoa, Haiti, and many other countries. He’s looking forward to more travel, both for pleasure and to continue serving, as well as more time with his family. He has two children, Derrick and Monica, and four grandchildren, Mia and Mikaela Dobbin and Sophia and Caroline Bricker.
Dr. Dobbin is confident that his legacy in the Cheyenne Cañon community will live on through his daughter, Dr. Sabadell, and Dr. McNickle.
Monica grew up and raised her family right here in Colorado Springs. She is proud to continue her father’s legacy as Cheyenne Cañon’s family dentist.
